FinePrint LLC of San Francisco have developed a set of intelligent printer drivers that streamline printing and publishing documents. When installed, FinePrint and pdfFactory appear as another printer on your PC. They work with any software that has a PRINT option. Simply click PRINT and select FinePrint6 or pdfFactory as the printer.

Server versions are available. These, monitor licence use ensuring all users are licensed, and allow settings to to be predefined for all users to help adherence to company documentation standards.

FinePrint and pdfFactory run under Windows. They do not run on Macs. The evaluation program you download from the website turns into the full program when the licence code is entered.

FinePrint has halved our paper consumption and can halve yours, because you can print any documents to any of your printers as booklets or double sided. In addition it is easy to save overlays such as letterheads which are then applied to your documents as they are being printed. If you make FinePrint your default printer then everyone in your organisation will see the same simple print preview controls regardless of which printer they are printing their work to. They can take advantage of powerful printer features by simply ticking boxes in FinePrint before printing.

pdfFactory will turn any document however complicated into a compact, emailable PDF file. The PDF file can contain pictures, diagrams, tables or unusual fonts and still be viewed and printed by the recipient without any risk of the layout changing. The ISO agreed PDF/A standard is incorporated ensuring that documents will be easy to open at any time in the future. PDFs are usually considerably smaller than the original document.
