FinePrint llc of San Francisco have developed a set of intelligent printer drivers that streamline printing and document publication. When installed, FinePrint and pdfFactory appear as printers on your PC. They work with any software that has a PRINT option. Simply click PRINT and select FinePrint5 or pdfFactory from your list of printers.
FinePrint6 will show you precisely what your printing will look like when it comes off your printer. There will be no surprises and therefore no scrap paper.
- The booklet option automatically rearranges your document and prints it out as a booklet. The benefits are a 75% reduction in paper, less ink, easier handling and filing and you can combine any number of documents into one booklet.
- Multi-up printing allows you to print 2, 4 or 8 up on a page or double sided
- Margins can be adjusted and gutters can be added.
- The electronic letterheads option lets you overlay any pages you print with your letterhead, footnotes or any other text and graphics. You can save the cost of preprinted stationery and ensure that documents are correctly footnoted or commented. One UK bank has over 1,000 forms saved in FinePrint and has saved millions of pounds and thousands of cases of preprinted stationery.
- Web page printing is simplified. If the web page is too wide send it to an A3 FinePrint page and Fineprint will rescale it to A4 for your printer. Delete pages you don't want when you are off line before printing. Save paper by combining many web pages into a single FinePrint document and print as a booklet. You can also save ink with a single click to omit pictures or convert coloured text to black.
pdfFactory standard and professional will convert anything sent to print into a compact PDF file. Simply press the Print button on your software and select pdfFactory which appears as another printer on your list of printers. - Your PDF format documents can be read by anyone with the widely used and free Acrobat® viewer. However complex these document are, they will reproduce perfectly.
- You can email the PDF by clicking on the pdfFactory SEND button. It is automatically attached to a blank email. You do not need to find the file and tell your email program to attach it.
- You can combine as many documents as you want into a single PDF. Then the recipient can't lose parts of the set!
- You can password protect your PDF file. Typically you can make the PDF freely viewable but prevent copying or printing. You can also prevent viewing without a password.
pdfFactory pro will in addition: - Overlay your electronic letterhead in pdfFactoryPro making it easy to send out invoices and statements electronically.
- Stamp pages with automatic page numbering, date/time stamps, watermarks, header and footer text etc.
- Bookmark pages creating comprehensive contents pages. Clicking on a bookmark on the contents page will jump the reader to the full page. Bookmarks are easily added by right mouse clicking on the page in the preview window and typing the description you want. Automatic bookmarks can be produced by telling pdfFactory to bookmark by font type and size.
