Page 1 of 2 Scan music for fast conversion of printed scores to MIDI, capella and MusicXML format! With capella-scan you can...
capella-scan came first in a software comparison with three other leading music recognition programs carried out at the world's largest music exhibition, the 2003 Frankfurt Music Exhibition. None of the other programs worked as fast and with the same high quality. Since then there have been three major new versions (5,6 and 7) keeping capella-scan at the forefront of music scanning. The quickest and easiest way to enter sheet music to the PC is to scan it and use capella-scan to convert the scanned image into an editable score. Once you have scanned a page of music into your PC it takes 2 to 3 seconds for capella-scan to convert this into a MIDI and a capella notation format score. A carefully thought out editor makes correcting any wrongly interpreted elements very quick, and any errors are easy to spot because the recognized score is superimposed in bright green over the black scanned image. Editing out errors is simply a question of dragging and dropping the correct item to where it is shown on the black scanned image. capella-scan can recognize up to 4 separate voices on a stave. Each voice is given a different colour and this colour is applied as a background to the voices' notes so that you can see which voices are linked to which notes. Any length of score can be processed and turned into a single MIDI or capella score. Because you can save the results as both MIDI and capella notation you can also use capella-scan to enter music to other notation programs. |
