People who use capella music software say...

Miles Golding, professional musician says
I have been a free-lance professional violinist in London for many years, and have a handful of private pupils. My interest in acquiring music-writing software arose primarily from the need to prepare and produce scores and parts for musical productions at my sons' Primary School in about 1996. I chose capella because I was impressed immediately by its value for money, the desire of the author to produce a good product at an affordable price, and capella's wide range of functions. I haven't changed my view, and admire the author's policy of continual improvement. In the intervening ten years it has matured into a very sophisticated product which I often recommend to friends and colleagues.
I use it now mainly for my own arrangements and compositions, from simple duets, trios and technical exercises for my violin pupils to full symphonic-sized scores for concerts involving local young musicians. The Graphic Export and Midi Import/Export functions have been very useful. In 2001 I used capella to prepare parts for two arias in the English Concert's production and recording of "Tamerlano" for the Handel Festival in Halle; it fulfilled the requirements perfectly. capella has a sophisticated interface that is logical, intuitive and, with the expected amount of learning and familiarisation, easy to use. The UK customer support has always been of high quality - well-informed, polite, friendly and fast.

Nigel Dudley, Deputy Headteacher, Blessed William Howard Catholic High School, Stafford (formerly Director of Music)
I first bought capella about ten years ago, essentially as a relatively cheap notational package from which I could import manuscripts into word processed worksheets which included performing arrangements for lower school pupils and analyses for examination groups. It turned out to be much, much more useful than I first envisaged and I have used it personally and professionally ever since. At school, all pupils quickly learn to use capella from age 11; GCSE pupils use it to produce professional looking scores and A level musicians use it to complete harmony and counterpoint examination questions.
I would wholly recommend it above any other similar products which, whilst sometimes being significantly (but unnecessarily) more sophisticated, are also more complicated to use and expensive to purchase. capella possesses much by way of simple logic which is not found in more high profile software; for example, the numeric values on the keyboard equate logically with rhythmic values, where the keypad retains both a numeric and a musical significance rather than being a set of 'punch in' keys (à la many gaming programs). Each new upgrade offers helpful developments without being overly clever just for the sake of it.
capella is a bargain and just one program in a range of excellent software promoted by Software Partners. Particularly useful for musicians is the FinePrint program which automatically booklets scores and other documents without you having to work out which page goes next to which. pdfFactory is also an excellent package for producing material for the Internet - again at a fraction of the cost of other well-known packages.

I have been using capella since the early 1990s.  Initially it was the affordability that drew me to the programme, but I have come to love its flexibility.  The scores look terrific and the support from Software Partners is second to none.

Dr Peter Katin is one of the country's outstanding concert pianists and has been a capella user since 1996.
capella was a revelation. Previous music software proved temperamental and help was difficult to get. I have been using capella for ten years now. It works, and when I have been stumped by a “how can I …” problem Software Partners have always been able to help. There is no help desk formulaic response, you always get someone who knows the software and who can help.
