The software below works in trial form and converts to the full system when you enter your licence number. When licensed it needs to be activated within 30 days or it will return to a trial version requiring you to enter your licence again. Click on the links under Version for a history of changes and improvements to the software. If you have a current version your licence will work with any newer .xx versions you find on our site. These can be downloaded and will install over the existing version. For example capella 6.0 can be updated to 6.0-13d and will work with your current licence. Please email us if you have a non current version and wish to get the last revision to it which is free or you if need to install an old version back onto a new PC.
To print your music please look at the FinePrint information on this website. FinePrint provides a simple way to print in booklet form, double sided, and with watermarks or revised guuters and margins. You can also combine scores into sets for printing and add new page numbers and headers/footers to pull the separate scores together into a single publication. You can check the page appearance before you commit to printing on paper, print your own exercises for pupils, produce booklets ... maybe a book of pupils' compositions? You can combine pages from Word with your music in the same FinePrint file. To send your music via the internet there is an automatic process built into capella which creates an index page and separate web pages for each page of score. This is a very simple way to create a set of web pages. However, if you wish to have a more flexible system so that people can easily download and print your music in the original quality, then the PDF format will ensure that the recipient will receive your music exactly as you laid it out. You can also restrict access so people can view the score but not print or copy from it. Download pdfFactory form this website and see how easy it is to use. With the Pro version you can add a contents page and overlay new text. Lots of information is available on our Printing pages, and in the FAQs. Installing capella professional 6 (capella 2008) for the first time. If you accept the defaults capella will install under the heading 'capella software'. The intention is that capella-scan etc will also be under this main heading. Therefore, after installation, when you click on Start and Programs you should look for the capella software heading and not capella professional. capella professional now includes the necessary elements of Python so Python does not need to be installed separately. Upgrading to capella professional 6. After installing capella professional v6 you will have two entries on your list of programs - the old capella and this new capella professional. You can uninstall the old version by clicking on the entry in Program Files. You will then see an option to uninstall as well as to start the program. Alternatively you can go into Add/Remove Programs under Windows Control Panel and do the same. Note. Uninstalling capella does not remove any of your music files that you have created with capella. However we would always recommend that you back these up first as I am sure you have learnt with computers that nothing can be guaranteed! Uninstalling the old version can in some circumstance remove the music font. If this happens, re-install capella professional 6. |
